Location: Michigan Medicine – MedSport Ann Arbor
The University of Michigan MedSport Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery Fellowships provide fellows with the knowledge, skills, and tools they need to be leaders in the field of sports medicine and shoulder surgery. The fellow will rotate with each of the sports medicine faculty members at MedSport. Our state-of-the-art clinic includes space for clinical and human performance research.
Two fellowships are available. Each of the fellows will have dedicated research time and will work closely with one or more faculty members to develop a research plan. We offer research opportunities in both clinical and basic science investigation.
Fellows will develop team physician skills by providing care for athletes at the University of Michigan, Eastern Michigan University, and the USA Hockey National Team Development Program.
Our teaching program includes:
- Weekly conferences in sports medicine and shoulder surgery.
- A monthly sports medicine journal club and case conference.
- Access to the research laboratory’s wet lab.
Successful completion of USMLE Steps 1 and 2 (CS/CK).

The University of Michigan MedSport Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery Fellowship is ACGME-accredited and participates in the NRMP match program.
